Understanding the trading central advisory reports (analysis, methodology, charting)
The Trading Central Advisory Reports provide a detailed overview of each currency pair with continuous updates as changes appear on the price charts. The reports are available on the Alpari US website under the "Alpari Academy" tab and within the "Technical Reports" menu item.
The technical reports are based on a 30-minute bar time frame and include analysis of key targets, pivots, trend and technical indicators. Each report can be a source for trading ideas as well as a trigger for any necessary trade adjustments.
The first section is a written analysis of the currency pair including its trend, key levels and comments about technical indicators applied to a 30 minute price chart. The trend analysis can be used to determine what kind of positions to look for. A bullish outlook would indicate that long positions are attractive. A bearish or more neutral outlook would indicate short positions or tighter risk control is becoming more important.
The second section of each report summarizes the key levels on the chart including the daily pivot level and price targets. The daily pivot level indicates whether the analyst favors bullish or bearish opportunities. When prices are above the pivot the bias is bullish. Similarly, if prices are below the pivot it is likely to act as resistance and the bias will be bearish.
The third section in each report consists of an annotated 30 minute price chart. The chart includes key levels, pivot points, technical indicators and trend analysis. You can repeat the analysis you see on the report's chart on your own charts in MetaTrader 4. This is a helpful way to practice performing technical analysis and can help you plan your trades.
The technical reports are full of information but can also be quickly scanned for important benchmarks like the trend bias and pivot levels. You can use this information to generate trading ideas but ultimately the decision to trade or not to trade is yours.
