Download Historical data for MetaTrader 4

Alpari (US) provides MetaTrader 4 traders with access to historical (interbank) data in all time frames, as far back as 1990. By downloading additional data, traders may be able to improve back testing results, increase the accuracy of technical analysis and potentially make better trading decisions.

In order to access historical data directly from the terminal, please:

  • Ensure the MT4 terminal is updated to the latest build, 419 or higher
  • Increase the maximum number of bars in your MT4 so that one day history consists of 1440 minute bars. To do this, select Tools - Options -"Charts" tab and specify the "Max. bars in history" field.

Historical data can be imported and exported. In order to view the archived historical data, select Tools – History Center from the menu. Select the currency pair that you would like to view, choose the time frame, and click “Download."
